Deborah Stokes is a licensed psychologist with twenty five years in the mental health field. She holds a PhD in Psychology with an emphasis in Psychophysiology from the Union Institute. Dr. Stokes was a traditional psychotherapist for eighteen years prior to starting her neurotherapy practice. It wasn't until she experienced two healings in her own life using traditional biofeedback and neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback) that she began investigating these methods. She has been practicing neurofeedback and other neurotherapies fulltime since 2000.
Dr. Stokes has completed well over 1000 hours of workshops, conferences and case consultations with experts in the area of Neurofeedback. She has provided mentoring and internships to new professionals in the field since 2003. She has presented her migraine study results at three international biofeedback and neurofeedback conferences.

Jason Mathison, MA, CAGS, NCSP is a full-time Licensed School Psychologist with extensive experience working with students and families. He specializes in neuropsychological testing to better diagnose brain and behavior relationships for various impairments that affect academic and social/emotional functioning. Comprehensive testing utilizes a variety of assessment techniques and instruments to evaluate ability, achievement, social/emotional development, and adaptive functioning for interventions at home and school.
Joan Odum Ordmandy is a Licensed Professional Counselor, nationally certified by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) in both general and EEG biofeedback. In 2007 she moved to Virginia to take the position of Clinical Director at Human Bionics and in 2008 joined Neurofeedback Consultants. During the 10 years prior to moving to Virginia, she owned and operated the Idaho Institute of Biofeedback at two locations. There she provided neurofeedback and general biofeedback training to a wide range of clients including those with AD/HD, addictions, autism, depression, anxiety disorders, stress related disorders, chronic and muscle pain, trauma related disorder, closed head injury and reactive attachment disorder.
Ms. Ordmandy received her training in biofeedback, neurofeedback, and quantitative electroencephalography at the University of North Texas. In addition to providing neurofeedback services to her clients, she also administers and interprets quantitative EEGs.
Ms. Ordmandy has over 14 years of administrative experience in both agency and college settings. Her background encompasses program development, grant writing, developing and monitoring budget, and hiring, supervising and training staff. Most recently she has been on the faculty of Boise State University as an Adjunct Professor, teaching graduate and undergraduate classes in addictions studies as well as biofeedback and neurofeedback
In her more than twenty years of experience as a counselor, Ms. Ordmandy has worked in agency, clinical, in-patient and school settings. She received her training as an addictions counselor in the states of New York and Texas, and worked as an addictions counselor in a Texas based inpatient drug/alcohol treatment facility with a court ordered dual diagnosed population. Her background in counseling also includes mental health, crises, career, family violence (court ordered abusers and victims) and general counseling. In addition, Ms. Ordmandy has provided counseling services at the State University of New York College of Technology at Delhi where she also taught. In 1997, she began her independent private practice specializing in biofeedback and neurofeedback. Ms. Ordmandy has a M.S.Ed. in Counselor Education from State University College at Oneonta, Oneonta, New York. Sheila Lee, PsyD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who provides individual and group psychotherapy services with a diverse population of clients. Though her approach varies depending on the issues of the client, she uses elements from her training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Insight-Oriented therapy. Some of her interests include trauma, mood and anxiety problems, depression, relationship issues, adjustments to various life transitions and stress-related conditions. Dr. Sheila Lee uses a collaborative approach and considers the mind/body connection a very strong component to living a healthy lifestyle.
Heide Rokni, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker who has worked in the health and mental health fields for over seven years. She holds a Master's of Social Work from Catholic University. The majority of Heide's clients are people living with depression, anxiety, life-limiting illness and grief. In her practice, she incorporates traditional psychotherapy with mind-body techniques such as imagery, meditation, breathing and biofeedback. Her work with neurotherapy (EEG biofeedback) began two years ago after experiencing excellent results as a client.
Prior to beginning her neurotherapy work, as a hospice social worker Heide provided therapy and counseling services to hospice patients living in the Washington, DC area and their families. She has counseled individuals and facilitated groups of children, teens and adults grieving the loss of a loved one. She has also led wellness groups with adults, focusing on the mind-body connection as a key resource for healing and growth. Having worked with people of all backgrounds and ages (3 to 103) has offered Heide many enriching and rewarding opportunities to provide therapeutic interventions to people in need, and she looks forward to continuing this work at our practice.
Susan Moore, M.S., R.D is a registered dietitian with over 25 years experience in the field of weight management and disordered eating. She is the former Program Manager for the George Washington University Weight Management Program where she led weekly cognitive-behavioral groups and coordinated the clinic's other nutritional classes. Prior to this position she co-led the Woman's Bulimia Group in Tampa, Florida and was a behavioral program leader for the Institute of Health Maintenance also in Tampa. In addition to her private practice, Ms. Moore is currently the Site Director for the Virginia Dietetic Internship Program in Northern Virginia.
Ms. Moore's professional memberships include the Virginia and American Dietetic Associations. She served on the Board of Directors for the Washington Society for the Study of Eating Disorders and Obesity from 1990-1997. She currently serves on the Legislative and Public Policy Committee of the Board of Directors the American Dietetic Association.
Ms. Moore has a B.S. degree in Clinical and Community Nutrition from the University of Florida and a M.S. degree in Adult Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is also a Certified L.E.A.P therapist (LEAP test measures sensitivities to food and chemicals).
